Chapter Nineteen

It was a blur how we made it to the porch. Hunter cupped my bottom and lifted me off my feet. I wrapped my legs around his waist, and my arms encircled his neck, pressing my mouth to his. Our kiss was sloppy, impatient, clumsy. Tongues tangled. Lower lips bitten. Teeth may or may not have been chipped.

He carried me up the steps but stopped before entering the hut.

“Should we take it slow?” His voice was a husky growl.

I covered his face with kisses, rubbing my hips against him, my center swollen with lust. “I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that.” I licked his bottom lip, then nibbled at it again.

“Sydney, I don’t have condoms,” he murmured, nuzzling my neck, his breath hot on my skin, “but I’ll do everything to make you lose your mind.”

“I have an IUD.” I bit and sucked his earlobe. “I haven’t been with a man since before my divorce.” My lips found his. Hunter wrapped his arms tighter. My back crashed to the wall, his weight ramming against me. His fingers tightened on my butt, and he kissed me over and over again.

He broke our kiss, pulling an irritated moan out of me. “I got tested after my last relationship, and we’re good to go.”

That was all I needed to hear. “That’s the hottest thing you’ve ever said.”

Hunter groaned, sending scorching heat straight down to the spot I wanted him to touch. He leaned slightly to avoid hitting our heads on the door frame and stepped inside. We stumbled toward the bed, falling and laughing, his body sinking on top of mine. He lifted on his elbows, framing my face, and his blue eyes darkened as they roamed over me.

“It drove me mad, being unable to touch you all this time.” He moistened his red lips. “I’ve never wanted anybody as much as I want you.”

I ran my hands over his shoulders and back, arching against him. Everything that I was burned for him. “Please, put me out of my misery.”

“I need this to be perfect. Tell me how you like it.” He brushed the strands of hair from my eyes, then dipped his head to leave a trail of tender kisses along my jaw. His tentativeness was hot, but it annoyed the hell out of me. “Tell me what you want,” he repeated.

At that point, I wasn’t sure how I liked it. My skin quaked in anticipation of his lips exploring every inch of me. I longed for him to do whatever he desired to do just so I could feel him inside me. To have a release. To feel well taken care of.

“I don’t know.” I blew out an irritated breath. In all the books I read, the lover made his partner see stars when they came. All I had seen with my ex was a lazy rotating fan in our bedroom. I wanted to see stars, too; I wanted to experience the Big Bang. And I believed Hunter was capable of delivering it.
